What to save and hide when sharing a Binance Spot order screenshot

Keep the original record privately. Share a separate copy that shows only the fields needed to explain the order problem.

Show the relevant order fields while keeping unrelated account and identity details private.

This guide is for sharing a Binance Spot order screenshot or record for checking. It does not cover a P2P payment receipt. The useful material is a few records that explain what happened: the pair, order, time, status, actual fills, and fee units. The rest of the account does not need to be exposed.

Keep the original privately, then make a separate copy to share. If the editing goes wrong, you can return to the original. Do not redact your only copy or upload raw account files to an open forum.

Start with one question someone can verify

“My trade is wrong” does not show where to look. Write a narrower question:

  • Why does this canceled limit order show an executed quantity?
  • Why did a fill of 10 ABC produce a net increase of 9.99 ABC?
  • Why is an expected fill missing from this selected Trade History range?

A useful sentence names Spot, the pair, buy or sell side, the visible status, the time and time zone, and the exact difference you cannot explain. Avoid starting with an accusation such as “the exchange took my funds.” The records are there to establish what happened before anyone assigns a cause.

Choose records that answer that question

Share by purpose, not by screen size
MaterialUseful fieldsQuestion it answers
Order detailPair, side, type, original and executed quantity, status, times, relevant IDWhat instruction was placed and how it ended
Trade detailPrice, quantity, quote amount, fee and fee asset, trade time, available IDsWhat actually executed
Account activityRelevant asset movement, type, amount, time, statusWhat else changed the balance
Error messageFull wording, code, page, timeWhat the system rejected

Not every case needs every row. A quantity-step rejection may need only the pair, order type, input value, current rule, and full error. A received-quantity question needs the fills, commission asset, and matching balance movement. Send more only when it helps answer the defined question.

An order ID, trade ID, and blockchain transaction hash are not interchangeable. A Spot matching issue belongs with the exchange order and fill records. A transaction hash is for an on-chain transfer and does not replace a Spot order identifier.

Connect screenshots with a timeline

Write each event on one line: timestamp, time zone, action, visible status, and the filename that shows it. This often reveals that two apparently conflicting facts happened in sequence.

Sample timeline: 14:03 order submitted; 14:03:10 partial fill; 14:05 cancel requested; 14:05:01 another small fill; 14:05:02 remainder canceled. The times are invented and do not claim a fixed processing delay or an observed personal order.

A page may show local time while an export uses UTC. Record the label before converting. Near midnight, one event can appear under different calendar dates in two sources without either record being wrong.

What to hide in a public or third-party copy

Remove information that is not needed to answer the order question:

  • UID, email address, phone number, legal name, and identity-document details;
  • QR codes, login state, device details, and security settings;
  • total wallet balance, unrelated assets, positions, and other orders;
  • unrelated deposit or withdrawal addresses;
  • complete order or trade identifiers when a public discussion does not need them;
  • browser tabs, notifications, file paths, and status bars that reveal private information.

Crop to the relevant panel when possible. A fee question may need only the pair, filled quantity, commission amount, and commission asset. Showing the whole wallet adds exposure without improving the explanation.

Make the redaction part of the final file

Do not use a translucent highlighter. Use a solid block or remove the text, then export a new image that does not preserve editable layers or history. Reopen the exported PNG or JPEG and inspect it at full size, including all four edges and thumbnails.

The UK ICO's practical electronic redaction guidance likewise warns that merely hiding information is unsafe and describes using solid blocks and flattened image output. This is useful file-handling advice; it does not mean UK data-protection law governs every reader.

For a spreadsheet, hiding a column or filtering out rows is not redaction. A recipient may be able to unhide them. Copy only the necessary rows and columns into a new sharing file, then inspect cell contents, comments, formulas, sheet tabs, filenames, and document properties.

Authentication secrets are never order evidence

Do not share your password, SMS code, authenticator code, seed phrase, private key, or API secret. They do not explain a fill, fee, or order state. Do not create an API key with trading or withdrawal permission because a stranger says it is needed to inspect one order.

Remote control and screen sharing are also unnecessary for a basic record explanation. Do not install an unknown plugin, visit a login link sent by an unsolicited message, or open security settings while another person watches your screen.

A verified Binance support case may request an account identifier or full order ID to locate an internal record. Provide only what the case specifically needs through the official support route you reached from a trusted Binance page or app. That does not make the same identifier safe to post publicly.

Check the attachment and its sharing permissions

Move the final redacted attachment into a separate sharing location, then open that exact file. Check its filename, visible contents, comments, document properties, image edges, and any additional sheets. Looking at the editor preview is not enough if a different original file can still be selected when you attach it.

If you use a cloud link, share only the redacted copy and set access for the intended recipient where possible. Confirm that the link does not expose the parent folder, file history, or nearby originals. After the case is finished, remove the link if it is no longer needed.

Keep the untouched source under your own control so you can return to its IDs, decimals, timestamps, and column labels. The sharing location should contain only material prepared for this question.

Write a short note before attaching files

  1. Question: state the unexplained difference without guessing the cause.
  2. Scope: name Spot, pair, and side.
  3. Time: give start, end, and time zone.
  4. Checked: list status, fills, fee asset, and relevant account activity.
  5. Requested answer: identify the field or event you need clarified.
  6. Attachments: say what each file shows.

For example: “At 14:03 UTC+8, I submitted an ABC/USDT Spot buy. Order detail shows 6 ABC executed and the remainder canceled, but the selected Trade History range totals 5.9 ABC. I checked the pair and date filters. Please confirm whether another fill should appear.” The figures are fictional teaching details.

Review the actual file you will send

Phone status bars can reveal notification text or a device name. Recent-app thumbnails can show another account screen. A chat app's “send original” option can preserve a higher-resolution file where weak redaction is easier to inspect. Review the final attachment, not only its small preview in the message composer.

  1. Does every screenshot belong to the same stated problem?
  2. Are quantities and fees shown with their asset units?
  3. Are the time and time zone clear?
  4. Were solid redactions exported into a new final file?
  5. Are unrelated balances, orders, identity fields, and notifications absent?
  6. Does the recipient need the full identifier, or can it remain hidden?
  7. Did you reach the recipient through an official route you verified yourself?

If someone contacts you after a public post and asks for more access, stop and return to the official site or app. A legitimate order question should be expressible in terms of fields and records. Requests for codes, keys, money transfers, or remote control do not help reconcile a Spot fill.

For the underlying exports, follow the Spot records guide. The goal is modest: show enough to explain this order while keeping the rest of your account private.

Other questions you may have

What should I do if I already posted an unredacted order screenshot?
Remove the post or disable the shared link if possible, then review exactly what was exposed. If it included authentication or account-security information, use the official Binance security route. Publishing a newly redacted copy does not undo the earlier exposure.
